All That is Necessary for the Triumph of Evil…

The opening frame of the new ACT! for America DVD features this profound quote from the English statesman Edmund Burke:
“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”
Here’s just the most recent example of this in the struggle against radical Islam.
Talk show host and syndicated columnist Dennis Prager reported in a column in late August that “Yale University Press has banned the publication of any picture of Muhammed from a book it is about to publish on the Muhammed cartoons controversy.”
Why did Yale University Press do this? Prager continues: “The director of Yale University Press, John Donatich, has admitted that the reason for forbidding any depictions of Muhammed to appear in the book was fear” (emphasis added).
Where are the champions of free speech? Why aren’t they rising up against the evil of radical Islam that has fostered this fear, the evil of radical Islam that demands that no criticism or critique of Islam be allowed?
It is beyond dispute that fear, indifference, and political correctness is aiding and abetting the westward march of radical Islam.
Once we have been informed and educated about the evil of radical Islam, we have a choice. By our actions we are either on the side of those resisting the evil that is radical Islam, or by our inaction we are on the side of those who are allowing evil to ultimately triumph. Good intentions or hoping for the best will not defeat the evil of radical Islam.
By this I’m not suggesting that you and everyone else reading this letter take action as I do. I know that I have been prepared by life for this purpose, to confront radical Islam every day through radio and TV interviews, speeches, and my leadership of ACT! for America — even at the risk of my life.
But I can’t do this alone. That’s why I want to honestly challenge you to take stock of what you can do and ask yourself, “Am I doing what I can to be part of the growing nationwide ACT! for America resistance to the evil of radical Islam?”
Can you be a chapter leader? If you can, then please, sign up to be a chapter leader. Don’t wait for someone else to step forward. Don’t shrink back thinking you can’t. You can! Some of our best chapter leaders doubted they could be an effective chapter leader, but stepped out in spite of their doubts.
Can you email one person this week, telling them about ACT! for America and encouraging them to log on to our website at www.actforamerica.org? Then do that. If just half of our members got one new person to sign up this week we’d add 30,000 new members!
Can you afford to make a monthly contribution to ACT! for America? Then please sign up to become a Patriot Partner and pledge $5, $10, $15, $20 or as much as you can afford.
Building a national organization that can speak with a loud and coordinated voice requires serious financial resources. In the long run we’re not going to effectively push back and defeat the tide of radical Islam with a small annual budget.
We’re fighting for your freedoms, your safety and your security, and we’re up against the deep pockets of Middle Eastern oil money that fund everything from terrorism to radical Islamist materials in American mosques.
What’s more, we don’t have a George Soros “mega-donor,” who has pumped millions and millions of dollars into organizations like MoveOn.org.
This is why it puzzles me, and even saddens my heart, to see that out of an email membership of 62,000 we only have 1,400 Patriot Partners so far.
Please don’t misunderstand; I’m deeply grateful for those who have already answered that call. And I don’t mean to be critical of those who haven’t, because I know economic times are tough for many people right now.
Just last month at an event in Denver a husband and wife told me they’d been unemployed for ten months and couldn’t commit to being a Patriot Partner — and then handed me a check for $70, bringing tears to my eyes.
But surely there are 500 or even 1,000 people reading this letter who could afford to be a Patriot Partner. If that’s you, and you’re not yet a Patriot Partner, I’m asking you to make the decision to ACT now, to do what you can so that the ranks of our Patriot Partners will swell, making it possible for us to fight and win more and bigger victories than we are able to right now.
You’ve seen us grow, witnessed our victories, and benefited from our successes.
For instance, you can’t be sued for defamation if you report suspicious activity in a public place — thanks to a federal law that ACT! helped get passed. You have reaped the benefit of actions that ACT! members took two years ago. Where would we be now if those members had chosen not to act?
Surely we’ve earned enough of your trust that you know your monthly pledge will be well-spent. As one of our major donors recently told me, “when it comes to giving to non-profit organizations, my contributions to ACT have proven to be the best return on investment I get.”
Surely you recognize what most Americans do not yet recognize — that we are in the “early warning” phase of the Islamofication of America, that we are in the fight of our lives, and that if we don’t make a stand now it will become harder and harder to do so as time – and radical Islam – marches on.
So if you are able to be a monthly contributor, then I’m asking you, please sign up today. Don’t count on someone else to take this action. If you and hundreds others like you can be a Patriot Partner, but choose not to, how many victories will we forfeit in the future because we didn’t have the resources to fight the battles?

It doesn’t take millions of people to stop evil. It won’t take millions of Americans to stop the rising tide of radical Islam. But it will take some of us to stand up and act, so that evil does not triumph because good men and women do nothing.
Yesterday I told you about the new Pew Research poll revealing the changing attitudes of Americans about Islam. These gradual changes reflect what I talk about in my book They Must Be Stopped, in the chapter “Boiling the West alive.”
A frog in a kettle of water will jump out if the heat is suddenly turned up. But raise the temperature gradually and the frog adjusts, eventually boiling to death.
This is how the West is being overcome by radical Islam. Terrorism has a way of immediately and directly focusing the mind on the evil that perpetrates it. On the other hand, cultural jihad, or stealth jihad, creeps up on us, gradually immersing us as our freedoms and security slip away while we hardly notice.
This is why we are determined to push back in the public relations arena with a 30 minute infomercial we want to produce and air across the country early next year, which I discussed in my letter yesterday.
Time is of the essence. As I said yesterday, the agenda of organizations like CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) to portray Islam as a religion of peace, Muslims as victims and those who criticize radical Islam as “bigots” is beginning to take root in the American mind. The longer these assertions are left unchallenged, the more they will be believed.
Thank you for whatever you choose to do today. Together, we will rise in defense of our security, our liberty and our values. Together, we will ensure that evil does not triumph because good men and women do nothing.
Together, we will prevail.
But please remember, we must act together if we are to prevail.
