She has broad experience working for and with Members of Congress and other elected officials. Lisa commenced her career in government immediately after completing her graduate work in Government and Politics. She is an expert in Congressional procedures and policies having served in almost every position within a Member’s personal office, from entry-level to management, responsible for devising a Member’s legislative strategy and coordinating an entire legislative team’s activities. She has directly worked as staff for such members as U.S. Representatives Robert S. Walker (PA), George Gekas (PA), Lincoln Diaz-Balart (FL), and Sue Myrick (NC). She regularly worked with Members of Congress from “both sides of the aisle” in the U.S. House and Senate and was highly successful navigating the legislative process from start to finish.
After her work on Capitol Hill, Lisa moved on to a position with the National Association of Home Builders, serving a Lobbyist and Grassroots Regional Director, and later as a Legislative Director, specializing in multifamily housing. During her tenure at the association, Lisa worked directly with members of the U.S. House and Senate, educating them on issues impacting the housing industry. In addition, she was a liaison with the 60,000 grassroots members of the organization, traveling across the country to provide updates on the status of legislation in the U.S. Congress, and educating them on how to become effective grassroots lobbyists.
Prior to joining ACT! for America, Lisa worked as Operations Manager for a small homeland security consulting firm, providing financial and marketing assistance, as well as monitoring legislative action in the U.S. Congress and writing articles for the firm’s newsletter.
Throughout her career, Lisa has worked on several Presidential and Congressional political campaigns and assisted with the 2008 Republican National Convention in Minneapolis, MN.
