ACT! for America is combining the power of truth about radical Islam with a mission to build the best-organized grassroots network in America to resist it. The truth about radical Islam is indeed jarring. But to effect the kind of policy changes necessary to fight the rising tide of radical Islam and the political correctness that aids and abets it, this truth needs the force of collective action that comes when placed in the hands of an organized network of citizens. That is the mission of ACT! for America.
ACT! for America Education (formerly known as American Congress for Truth), the first organization Brigitte Gabriel founded and a "sister" organization to ACT! for America, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Its primary mission is conducting research and providing educational and informational materials to the public. Contributions to ACT! for America Education are tax-deductible. Under tax law, ACT! for America Education can only devote an "insubstantial" amount of time and revenue to activities such as lobbying. Therefore, it was deemed necessary that ACT! for America, a 501(c)(4) be founded in order to accomplish the goal of having a grassroots citizen organization that would engage in activities such as lobbying and issues advocacy.
There are those in government, the media, academia, entertainment, and other arenas that routinely, and incorrectly, dismiss or discount the threat of radical Islam. Some excuse the acts of Islamic militants by arguing, again incorrectly, that they are the result of so-called "root causes", such as poverty. Others bend over backwards so as not to appear "intolerant" of Muslims, and thus become apologists for Islamic radicalism. Still others reflexively blame America first for all the problems and atrocities in the world, and thus side with Islamic "grievances" against America.
The common denominator of these and other expressions of political correctness is that they provide aid and comfort to our sworn enemies, the forces of radical Islam who are bent on our destruction.
