Fighting and Winning Partisan Big-Tech and Private Entities from Funding Public Elections!

By Christine Reagan, ACT National Grassroots Director

ACT NOW

A special congratulations goes to the first 17 states to pass legislation to stop the flow of Big-Tech Money from manipulating partisan outcomes in our elections!

These Zuckerbuck Ban States include Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia (Pending Governor signature), and West Virginia have delivered big wins on this election battlefront to better Secure Our Elections this fall!

We would have included the battleground state of Georgia in our list of winners, who passed SB 202 back in March 2021, prohibiting private funding. Sadly, a new bill, HB 1464, by Republicans has crossed over on March 15th of this year which completely CANCELS the private funding prohibition before we can reap the benefits, and this bill is close to passing and must be stopped! This new bill allows the Governor appointed Board of Elections to receive private funding and control the distribution of those private funds, leaving the fox in charge of the hen house per the request of election board officials throughout the state. In addition, the Left is driving a race and class discrimination tactic to prioritize which counties receive what funding! You can’t make this stuff up!

In 2021 the four states of Louisiana, Michigan, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania banned ‘Zuck Bucks’ through the legislature, but their state Governor’s vetoed the bill

This leaves us with 33 states that must defend or pass legislation, effective immediately, to prevent more Big-Tech meddling in our 2022 elections!

Overview of ‘Zuckerbucks’ and Private Funding Impact on our 2020 Elections

The Zuckerberg founded and funded ‘Center for Tech and Civic Life’ (CTCL), funneled over $400 million to thousands of election jurisdictions in 48 states, targeting swing counties to impact the results of the election to defeat President Trump and Republicans.

CTCL is run by a former Obama fellow and longtime radical progressive operative, Tiana Epps-Johnson, specializing in voting systems, and linked to every who’s who nonprofit engaged in impacting our election system.

CTCL’s 2nd largest donor, New Venture Fund, is a left-wing multi-billion-dollar pass through nonprofit network donating $24,829,000 from their largest 501c3 arm, Arabella Advisors, a dark money network.

Arabella Advisors is the same organization that directed large sums of money to defeat the confirmations of Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, funds the D.C. Statehood Initiative, promotes court packing, and ran a shadow campaign to topple the Republican Senate Majority in the 2020 general election.

$142 million was funneled to 8 swing states where 90% of private funding went to left-leaning swing counties, selectively driving voter turnout and election outcomes. In many cases, donations bypassed state and local governments, going directly to local election agencies, undermining the fairness and integrity of state elections.

We must defend against big-tech billionaires and private entities from unfairly influencing the outcome of elections!
