“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious.

But it cannot survive treason from within.

An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly.

But the traitor moves among those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.

For the traitor appears not traitor, he speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their garments, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city, he seeks to infect the foundation so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared.”

State Department mum on Islamic promotion
‘We’re not going to get into why the mosque-themed calendar was produced’

The product was advertised by “Global Publishing Solutions,” a division of the U.S. State Department, until bloggers started talking about it. Officials then apparently hid the page behind the security of a password-protected wall. Because of the website’s password-protection, taxpayers can’t simply go look for one. That’s the goal of the government agency, its website does confirm.

Six-year-old girl among Hamas supporters killed in blast at beach picnic

In one attempted arrest, Hamas police fired four rocket propelled grenades at the home of a local Fatah leader and briefly exchanged fire with his guards, witnesses said. Police then searched the house, but didn’t find the wanted man, Mohammed Aweidat.

Guilty knowledge

Shariah is what the Taliban brutally practiced in Afghanistan. It is the law of the land in Iran, Sudan and Saudi Arabia — three of the most repressive regimes in the world, all of which have extensive ties to jihadist terrorism. It is characterized by such barbaric practices as beheadings of apostates, subjugation of Jews and Christians, stonings for adulterers, flagellation for women deemed “unchaste,” amputations for petty crimes, female genital mutilation and martyrdom in the service of jihad.

Iran: Film on female footballers exposes more about regime

In the days before the meeting, the women were kept under control in a way that was offensive and embarrassing.

“They were even escorted when they went to the toilet, as if they were dangerous terrorists or spies that had arrived from Europe to try and overthrow the Iranian regime,” he said.

brian-moseley-picture.jpgAnn Corcoran of Refugee Resettlement Watch sent us this story courtesy of Brian Mosely, AP-awarding winning journalist. It’s about a Somali Jihadi running amuck in a crime spree in Shelbyville after attending a Mosque ‘conference’ that included stealing a car and pickup truck and attempting a rape of a woman at a local Baptist Church. The perpetrator flipped the second stolen vehicle and nearly died. Mosely, as we posted this week, won a Tennessee AP award for a five part series on Somali ‘assimilation’ in this middle Tennessee community. The Somalis migrated to Shelbyville to work in the Tyson meat processing facility there. The Somali Jihadi did not endear himself to the community. His spree is another demonstration of why our broken legal humanitarian refugee system needs an overhaul. Read Mosely’s article in the Shelbyville Times-Gazette on this disturbing story here, and as Ann Corcoran says pay attention to the comments.

Shelbyville (again!): Assimilation Somali style

, posted by Ann Corcoran, Refugee Resettlement Watch, July 25, 2008

A man believed to be a Somali refugee is in critical condition after he allegedly went on a crime spree after attending a “religious conference” at a mosque in Shelbyville, TN. Regular readers will recognize Shelbyville as the site of much angst over the arrival of Somali refugees to that southern town ostensibly lured by employment at a Tyson’s meat packing plant. Residents have complained that the Somalis seemed unwilling to assimilate to life in America. This week’s incident is reported in the Times-Gazette.

First the Atlanta Somali stole a car (after the religious conference):

According to a report by Shelbyville police officer Josh Leverette, Francisco Carrillo told authorities that Abbas Hussein, who was in town “for a camp” at an East Depot Street location described by Leverette as “possibly a Somalian mosque,” reached into Carrillo’s right front pocket and took his car keys.

Then he is charged with entering a Baptist Church and attempting to sexually assault a woman there (this will really endear the Somalis to their southern neighbors):

Instead, Hussein allegedly took the 1996 Ford Explorer and headed south, where he allegedly entered Center Grove Baptist Church between Estill Springs and Tullahoma about 9 p.m. and allegedly attempted to rape a woman in the building.

Then he stole yet another vehicle and almost ran over a deputy who suffered a foot injury:

Following that incident, Franklin County deputies received a report that a 1999 Ford F-250 had been stolen from Speedy Sak Market north of Estill Springs, with Hussein allegedly leaving Carrillo’s truck behind. The stolen vehicle was spotted by Sgt. Milton Binkley of the sheriff’s department, who attempted to pull it over.

Hussein drove erratically, flipped the truck over while being pursued by police, nearly died, and was flown to the hospital.

Read the whole story by award-winning reporter Brian Mosely. Don’t forget to read the comments!

In my opinion, this is the critical part of the article:

Lt. Bell told the T-G Thursday that Hussein’s family in Atlanta explained the man had been “attending a religious conference of some kind in Shelbyville.”

I guess they weren’t teaching Somalis about how to assimilate to America at this “religious conference”, so what exactly were they learning there that set him off? How much do you want to bet that no law enforcement people go to the mosque and ask questions about the meeting content?

P.S. Where is the Tennessee Immigration and Refugee Rights Coaliton when you need them?

picture-of-father-keith-roderick.gifFather Keith Roderick is a long time personal friend. As Washington Representative for Christian Solidarity International, he has been in the forefront of fighting for the recognition of the perilous status of non Muslim Christian minorities in predominately Islamic countries. Roderick has taken on the status of the Christian and Animist South Sudanese and the millions slaughtered and enslaved, well before the emergence of the Islamist central government assault on nominally black Muslims in the Darfur region. He has endeavored to raise public consciousness of Coptic Christians in Egypt, Maronite Christians in Lebanon and Christians in Pakistan. Last fall, he and another friend, author and journalist Ken Timmerman were part of a delegation that went to Jordan and Iraq to investigate the plight of Assyrian Chaldean Iraqi Christian refugees desperately seeking admission to the US under our misguided legal humanitarian refugee system. In this important FrontPageMagazine interview with editor Jamie Glazov, Roderick articulates the perilous status of the threatened Christian minorities in the Muslim ummah as dhimmis under strict Islamic Sharia law. Note these comments from Roderick:

Roderick: The goal of the Islamist is to order all things in society by Islamic law. That goal is inherently racist. It assumes that a favorable balance of power favoring Muslims is the norm. Some argue that co-existence between Muslims and non-Muslims in the past is a template for today. However, unless there is the acceptance of true parity between Muslims and non-Muslims it is delusional to believe that such a peaceful “co-existence” can be achieved. The imbalance of power always and inevitably works against the non-Muslim in Islamic society.

Therefore, to be resilient in the face of this reality means that the minority must seek to preserve the integrity of his own culture. When one finds that all of the institutions of society are constructed to ensure that non-Muslims remain second class citizens, it becomes necessary to seek out one’s own cultural institutions to identify with and strengthen. Integration into a society of mutual benefit presupposes equality and security. When these are denied to minorities, “co-existence” becomes a facade to justify the status quo of discrimination and prejudice.

It is true that, even in the deepest throes of “Jim Crow” American society, whites and blacks lived and worked together. However, this did not signify a just society. Institutional inequality, prejudice, and insecurity made true co-existence impossible until the black minority asserted their basic civil rights and the white majority, under the pressure of that movement, institutionalized into law equal rights and security for all.

FrontPageMagazine, Interview by Jamie Glazov, July 25, 2008

FP: Rev. Keith Roderick, welcome to Frontpage Interview.

Roderick: Thank you.

FP: We’re here today to discuss the capability that of non-Muslim minorities to resist Islamization. What do you think is the reality and where is the potential?

Roderick: Non-Muslims have survived centuries of Islamization, but just barely. The fact that they still exist in spite of conquest, violent persecution and institutional discrimination is remarkable. Unfortunately, accommodation to the pressures of Islamization has opened their communities to demise. Non-Muslims in Islamic societies never speak from the perspective of power. The historic realities of living as a “them” in a society that is religiously, politically, and economically delineated between “us” (Muslim) and “them” (Khafir) means that non-Muslims speak from the perspective of victimization. Their survival response has often been to submit to the forces of their own oppression rather to resist them. Accommodation as the strategy for survival has all too often meant abandonment of their cultural identity and values. Nevertheless, Christians and other non-Muslims have shown remarkable resilience.

Perhaps resilience itself may be the most powerful force of resistance to Islamization.

FP: What is the goal of the Islamist?

Roderick: The goal of the Islamist is to order all things in society by Islamic law. That goal is inherently racist. It assumes that a favorable balance of power favoring Muslims is the norm. Some argue that co-existence between Muslims and non-Muslims in the past is a template for today. However, unless there is the acceptance of true parity between Muslims and non-Muslims it is delusional to believe that such a peaceful “co-existence” can be achieved. The imbalance of power always and inevitably works against the non-Muslim in Islamic society.
