Texas is vulnerable to election fraud and lacks state prosecutorial powers to investigate and deter fraud.
The recent State v Stephens case has thrown our election integrity into jeopardy by determining that the Texas Attorney General, as a member of the executive department, cannot prosecute election integrity cases without a constitutional amendment. Given the time constraints, passing such an amendment is impractical. Additionally, neither the Democrats nor Republicans in the Texas House who voted to impeach Ken Paxton are likely to restore his prosecutorial power by statute in a timely manner.
This leaves our state at the mercy of unreliable local prosecutors to enforce election laws.
We must act decisively to protect the integrity of our elections. Adding state prosecutorial resources specifically for election laws will shield Texas voters from organized vote theft and ensure our elections remain free and fair.
Call on the Governor, Governor’s Chief of Staff, and Senior Policy Advisor to call for an emergency legislative session to appoint a state prosecutor for election laws, implement strict voter ID, and strict proof of citizenship for voting polls and rolls.
