Headline after headline have exposed our immigration system as flawed. With the last administration's lack of vetting, our nation is vulnerable. It shouldn't have to take another National Guardsman's life to see that.

In addition to terrorist attacks, our nation is also being drained financially. Hundreds of millions of dollars have been squeezed from Minnesota taxpayers and funneled to Al-Shabaab, an al-Qaeda affiliate.  This money, fraudulently taken from Minnesota welfare programs, was primarily abused by Somali refugees. Our hospitality and freedom were clearly not enough for them.

President Trump has already halted all asylum claim decisions, and is now implementing a permanent ban on immigration from high-risk nations. President Trump needs Congress to help. Take action by contacting your federal legislators and tell Congress to back the permanent pause of high-risk immigration. For our Guardsmen, our taxpayers, our future—it’s time to be tough.
