Securing the border is a national security issue and ACT For America does support building a wall along the United States-Mexico border. Since the terrorist attacks in New York City on September 11th, 2001, there has been an explosion in building border walls around the world. From India, to Israel, to Saudi Arabia, governements are utilziing this long-lasting method to secure their borders. The fact of the matter is that walls do work and here are three prime examples:
- In the United States, San Diego's barrier stopped illegal immigrant crossings by 95%
- Israel's wall brought the number of terrorist attack deaths from 1,639 to 20
- The fence on the Hungary-Serbia border slowed illegal immigrant arrests from 3,528 to 5
If you agree that the United States is sovereign and that Americans have the right to feel protected within our borders, then contact your representatives in Congress to make your voices heard. Our elected officials need to know how strongly we feel on this issue and do make sure to cite the three examples above of where walls have worked.
